Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you ask for an estimate. The estimate form asks for your first name, last name (optional), phone number, email address, the type of project, and an optional message about your project. We also save the date and time of your request.

When you leave a review. The review form asks for your name, a star rating, and your review text. Your email address is optional and is never published. We read every review before it appears on the Site.

Blog comments. If comments are open on a blog post, we collect the name, email address, optional website, and comment you enter.

Reviews from Thumbtack. When a customer reviews us on Thumbtack, Thumbtack sends us that review automatically, with what the customer made public: name, star rating, review text, photos, and date. We may show it on the Site.

Text messages. If you text our business number, we receive your phone number, your messages, and any photos you send.

Automatic technical data. Like most websites, our server receives your IP address and basic request details (such as the page you asked for and your browser type) on every visit. The estimate form’s spam protection uses your IP address briefly, in memory, to limit how many requests one person can send. We do not save your IP address with your estimate request.

Messages you send us directly. If you email, call, or message us on WhatsApp or Instagram, we receive what you send and your contact details.

Cookies and similar tools

We do not use analytics tools, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or ad networks, and we do not sell your personal information. The Site loads fonts and icons from Google Fonts and Font Awesome, so those providers may receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.

How we use your information

• To answer your estimate request, call or text you, schedule a visit, and give you a written quote.
• To let our team know that a new request or text message came in. Our team reads them in a private admin dashboard.
• To show reviews on the Site, after we check them.
• To keep the Site secure and block spam and abuse.
• To meet legal, tax, and insurance obligations.

We do not use your information to advertise to you or to anyone else.

Text messages (SMS)

When you text our business number, we reply by text about your estimate request or project, for example to schedule a visit, ask for photos, or answer your questions. We only reply within conversations you started, and we do not send marketing texts.

We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This information is never sold.

• Service providers. We use Twilio to send and receive texts. Twilio and wireless carriers handle your number and messages only to deliver them.
• Owner alerts. When a new estimate request arrives, our owner gets a short text alert with your first name, phone number, and project type so he can reach you quickly. When you text us, the alert only says a new message arrived. Alerts never include the content of your message.
• Opt out. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run our business:

These providers work for us and may not use your information for their own purposes. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business. Reviews you post, and public Thumbtack reviews, can be seen by anyone who visits the Site.

How long we keep it

• Estimate requests: 24 months after the request. Then we delete them or remove your personal details.
• Text messages and photos you text us: 24 months after the last message in the conversation. Then we delete the messages and photos.
• Reviews: as long as they stay on the Site, or until you ask us to remove yours.
• Database backups: daily backups stay on our server for 14 days and in our private, encrypted cloud backup for 30 days. A deletion reaches the backups only after they expire.
• Web server logs: up to 30 days.

We may keep some records longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

Security

Our database runs on our own server, and our team reads requests only through a private dashboard that requires sign-in. The Site uses HTTPS, our estimate form limits repeated submissions, and our backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and how to ask for deletion

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it (including a review you posted). To stop texts, reply STOP or contact us.

Email contact@elshadayflooring.com or call 804-244-6579 and tell us the name, phone number, or email you used. We may need to confirm it is you. We will answer within 30 days. If you live in Virginia, you may have additional rights under Virginia law, and you may appeal our decision by contacting us.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child gave us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

The Site links to Thumbtack, Google, Angi, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which have their own privacy practices. When you send the estimate form, WhatsApp may open with your details filled in so you can message us there too; WhatsApp’s privacy policy applies to that message.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
